Economic Update with Dr. Chris Thornberg
Friday, March 18, 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM

With the economic effects of the COVID-19 recession fading further into our collective rear-view mirror, the impact of the massive fiscal stimulus that was hosed out across the U.S. economy during the crisis now takes center stage. The extreme amount of public money spent to stimulate the economy created an enormous amount of private sector wealth, which is showing in the form of high savings rates, excessive consumption, rapidly rising asset markets, and exploding home prices. When will price inflation end? Are current supply chain disruptions going to extend throughout 2022? Beacon Economics' founding partner Dr. Christopher Thornberg will present a comprehensive economic forecast for the nation and discuss the most important trends that will affect consumers, businesses, and government through 2022 and beyond.

Dr. Thornberg is an expert in economic forecasting, regional economics, labor markets, and industry analysis. In 2015, he was named to the California State Treasurer’s Council of Economic Advisors.  He holds a Ph.D. in business economics from the Anderson School at UCLA.
